The Register is a database that lists men and women who served in the British Imperial Forces during the war in southern Africa; soldiers, sailors, nurses and civilians can all be found in this unique database. To date there are over 306,360 entries. This includes a fully revised and corrected casualty roll of over 60,500 records; the best source for Anglo-Boer War casualties in print and on the Internet. Here are a few reasons why:

  • 4,000 individual records not in the Official Casualty Rolls
  • 3,100 casualty events not in the Official Casualty Rolls
  • 22,000 or 39% Official Casualty roll records updated/corrected
  • 20,000 names linked to a war memorial
  • 1,385 casualty locations have a gazetteer entry
  • Over 565 sources are used by The Register

On The Register you can check the Queen's South Africa entitlement for all cavalry regiments, the Imperial Yeomanry, Scottish Horse, Lovat's Scouts and many other thousands of men and women - look for 'ME' when you search for a name.
